It is very important for you to know where your water valve is located.  If there is an emergency in your home and you need the water turned off quickly, that is not the time to try and find your shut off valve. Usually the shut off is located where the water line comes into your house prior to the water meter.

In the event that you cannot locate the shut off valve, you can contact the water department for an emergency water shut off. During normal business hours of 7:00 am to 3:30 pm you can call for emergency service by calling 215-536-5001. After business hours emergency calls can be made to the answering service at 215-721-3520 to have a Water Department employee dispatched to your location.

Resumption of water can only be made between the hours of 7:00 am and 3:00 pm.  You will be required to contact the Water Department to schedule the resumption of service.
