The Borough of Quakertown provides weekly curbside solid waste and recycling collection for residential customers within Borough limits. Owners of multi-family properties with 4 or more residential units are responsible for contracting with a private licensed hauler or applying to the Dumpster Service through the Borough of Quakertown. The owner must provide both trash and recycling services.

CAN SPECIFICATIONS
- No more than three (3) containers are permitted per collection for regular service and one (1) 32-gallon can for senior service residents. Regular service customers are permitted to have containers up to 55-gallons each as long as they meet all other container specifications.
- However, one (1) of containers placed at the pickup location must be the Borough provided cart
- Trash/Recycling shall not weigh more than 40 pounds each
- Containers may have wheels as long as the can meets all other specifications.
- Containers must be covered with a lid at the time of collection – hinged or removable lids are required
- Recycling can(s) should be labeled with recycling symbol.
- Recycling stickers can be picked up at Borough Hall free of charge
- Place containers in an area that is easily accessible and within 3 feet from the curb or edge of the road.
- Containers are to be placed at your curbside no sooner than 6:00pm the day before and no later than 6:00am on your pick-up day. If cans are not placed outside during those hours and your waste was not collect, the Sanitation Department will not come back to pick-up.
BILLING
All residents will be billed directly through the Borough of Quakertown. Solid waste and recycling rates will now be visible on your monthly utility bills.
SOLID WASTE & RECYCLING ROUTE
If a holiday is within your scheduled collection week then your solid waste and recycling collection will take place one day late. For instance, when a holiday falls on a Monday, collection that week will occur Tuesday through Saturday versus Monday through Friday.
