Donald E. Rosenberger

Don was elected to Borough Council in 1998.

VICE PRESIDENT OF COUNCIL
L. James Roberts, Jr.

Jim was born in Quakertown Hospital in 1944 and has lived his entire life in the Borough. Having served since 1984 on Borough Council, he has been involved with most aspects of local government. He has served as either Vice-President or President of Council for over 20 years.

He currently is a member of the Board of Trustees of St. Luke’s Quakertown Hospital, where he has served since 2000. As an owner of the Friendly Book Store and a past president of the Upper Bucks Chamber of Commerce, he has been active in the Quakertown business community since 1974.

Married for over 50 years, he and his wife Donna are the parents of 2 adult sons. He is active in Grace Bible Fellowship Church where he serves as an Elder and teacher.

MEMBERS OF COUNCIL

Michael Johnson
Mike was elected to Borough Council in 2008. 

Mike was born and raised in Quakertown. He graduated from Quakertown Community High School in 1974. He attended Kings College in Wilkes-Barre, PA and received a BA Degree in Criminal Justice in 1978. In 1997 he attended the FBI National Academy.

He worked as a Deputy Sheriff for Bucks County from 1978 to 1980. From 1980 to 2009 Mike worked for Doylestown Township Police Department, and promoted to Sergeant in 1988. In 2009 he retired as a Sergeant with Doylestown Township and hired by Plumstead Township Police Department as a Patrolman.

He and his wife Rosanne have three children who all graduated from Quakertown High School. Mike was involved as a coach in local youth sports teams, both baseball and soccer for twelve years. He coached the Junior Varsity baseball team from 2005 to 2008.

 

Douglas Propst
Doug was elected to Borough Council in 2012. 

Doug is a lifelong resident of the Quakertown area and graduated from Quakertown High School in 1985. At that time, he attended Bloomsburg University, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting in 1989. He later continued his education at Temple University where he earned a Masters Degree in Finance in 2001.

Doug has been employed at Kwik Goal, Ltd in Richland Township since 1996. He was hired as Credit Manager and is now Controller and Chief Financial Officer. He is responsible for all accounting and financial aspects of the company, including budgeting and expense tracking for all departments.

Prior to his election to Borough Council, Doug served on the Quakertown Planning Commission for four years which included holding the positions of Chairman and Vice Chairman. He also served as a Board Member and Treasurer of Pride of Quakertown, as well as serving on the QNB Community Advisory Group, Quakertown Area Planning Committee, Quakertown Action Park Committee and Upper Bucks Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors

He and his wife, Nancy, have been married since 1997 and have lived in their current home since 2001.

 

Dave Wilsey
Dave was elected into council in 2018

David was born in Quakertown and graduated in the class of 1971 from Quakertown Community High School. He is a graduate of Upper Bucks Technical School in the Culinary Arts. David worked at Meyer’s Restaurant and CD Moyer’s before moving to Colorado where he became head chef at various restaurants. 

Upon returning to Quakertown he started Bucks County Balloon Adventures and served the public with hot air balloon rides and marketing venues from 1981 until 1992. He worked at Farm & Home Oil and Pitt Ohio then began his own trucking company, Dave Wilsey Transportation which he ran for 5years.

David, and his wife Sue, open the Weekday Café in July 1999 on Broad Street in downtown Quakertown. When it opened for weekends and fine dining the name changed to Karlton Café. David was the chef-owner until the restaurant was sold in October 2004.

David is married to his wife Sue for 30 years (2018) and has a son Troy and a grandson Benjamin who live in Maine. David and Sue have a son Mark who is a graduate of Quakertown High School and a daughter Erin who is currently attending Quakertown High School.

David was elected to Borough Council for the term of 2005-2008, is a former Planning Commission Member, former business owner, pilot, and commercial driver. David is a member of Providence Presbyterian Church of Quakertown. David currently works for Hagey Transportation as a motor coach driver. 

 

Jonathan Sell
Jonathan was elected into council in 2018

Jon was born at Grandview Hospital in 1977. He was the youngest of 5 children growing up in Souderton, and has lived in Quakertown since 2008. He attended Upper Bucks Christian School and graduated in 1995. We went on to Williamson College of the Trades in Media, Pennsylvania and graduated with an associate’s degree in construction technology. He has worked in the construction industry since 1998, working for Len Lease at Merck until 2003 and several residential construction companies after, until starting his own residential construction company in 2010.

Jon has been married to his wife Melissa since 2003. They have 3 daughters who are in the Quakertown School District, and his wife is a teacher in a local public school district. They attend Calvary Church of Souderton, and are both involved in different areas with the church. Jon has had the opportunity to go on numerous mission trips, and enjoys helping others in need.

Jon was appointed to Borough Council in January 2018, and is looking to be more involved with local government and is enjoying his time on Council so far. He has been on 2 different school committees over the past several years, and is looking forward to seeing where he can best help our community.

 

Mae Wear
Mae was elected into council in 2018

Mae was born on a dairy & tobacco farm in Highland County, Hillsboro Ohio. Having graduated from Edward Lee McClain High School in Greenfield, Ohio she entered the U.S Navy and served as an Airman until her honorable discharge is 1962. Her military service took her to Bainbridge, Maryland and Pensacola, Florida.

Mae was married to William Wear Jr. from Hazleton, PA and had two children, both graduates of Quakertown High School. Mae’s son Bill is a popular musician and often returns to the Quakertown area to perform. Although Mae and William divorced in 1977, they continued to live in the Quakertown area. Mae enjoys her four grandchildren and two great grandchildren, the oldest who attends Quakertown Elementary.

Mae lived in Pensacola, FL, Jacksonville FL, Corpus Christie Texas, and moved to Quakertown in 1969. While residing in Quakertown, she has been employed at PSG Industries in Perkasie, Crouthamel’s Potato Chip Company, The Free Press, and retired after twenty years with the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission as a toll collector. 

Mae is currently employed as a provisional support associate with BARC Individuals with Disabilities. She is a member of the First United Methodist Church in Perkasie and has been a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Quakertown and the Church of Christ in Richlandtown. Mae received her Bachelor’s degree in Theology from the Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington, North Carolina in 2007. Mae is a member of the Quakertown Women’s Club and volunteers with the Quakertown Train Station Historical Society.
