Safe Exchange Zone Established
The rise in internet sales of items such as Craig’s list exchanges or the meeting and transfer of children in cases where child custody agreements require meeting in public places have caused the creation of Safe Exchange Zones. The Borough of Quakertown has established a Safe Exchange Zone at Borough Hall near the southwest corner of the building and is covered by two exterior video cameras and is next to the exterior 9-1-1 phone that communicates directly with police radio.
The Quakertown Police Department strongly suggests to consider using the Safe Exchange Zone when exchanging items bought or sold on the internet or when transferring children when a public exchange place is necessary. The Safe Exchange Zone is marked by a sign designating the Safe Exchange Zone as the cameras cover that designated area for your protection.
If you have any questions, please contact the Quakertown Police Department at 215-536-5002.
