By Borough Ordinance it is unlawful to have sump pump discharges connected to the sanitary sewer system. A sump pump collects storm water that should be discharged to the stormwater system. Improper sump pump connections will cause the sanitary sewer system to become overloaded.

It is important to have these connections attached to the stormwater system as soon as possible to prevent problems that can develop during large storm and flooding events.
