Application Submission & Due Dates:

  • Application may be submitted:
    • Online via the Online Test Registration Form no later than 4:30pm on September 17, 2024.
    • By hand/in person to the Quakertown Borough Police Department (35 N. Third Street Quakertown, PA 18951) no later than 4:30pm on September 17, 2024.
    • By mail (35 N. Third Street Quakertown, PA 18951) and post marked on or before September 17, 2024.
  • There are no extensions or exceptions for the required submission dates. 
  • There is no application fee to take the exam. 

Minimum Requirements for QPD Officer Candidates:

All applicants shall:

  • 20 years of age
  • United States Citizen
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Physically and mentally fit
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Applicants must possess a minimum of 30 college credits from an accredited institution of higher education or consideration may be given for one of the following waivers during the selection process:
    • Applicants with at least 3 years of active military duty and an Honorable Discharge
    • Applicants with current certification as a police officer (Act 120 or equivalent) and at least 2 years of full-time experience

WRITTEN EXAMINATION INFORMATION

Candidates must be able to attend one (1) of the following in-person written examination dates:

  • Tuesday, September 24, 2024 - 6:30pm registration, 7:00pm exam start, location emailed
  • Thursday, September 26, 2024 - 6:30pm registration, 7:00pm exam start, location emailed
  • Saturday, September 28, 2024 - 9:00am registration, 9:30am exam start, location emailed

Examination locations will be based on the number of applications. Applicants will receive an email notification of their testing location the week prior to the written exam. If you did not receive an email, please reach out to policeadmin@quakertown.org.

A valid driver’s license photo id is required at the time of check-in to the written examination.

A minimum score of 70% is required to pass the written examination.

PHYSICAL AGILITY TEST INFORMATION

All applicants with a passing grade on the written exam will be invited to participate in the Physical Agility testing.

  • Saturday, October 12, 2024 - 9:00am registration, 9:30am start, Faith Christian Academy High School (2255 Allentown Road, Quakertown, PA 18951)

Physical agility testing is scored on a PASS/FAIL basis
