Quakertown Borough Police Department Establishes Procedures to Ensure Safety
Coronavirus, or COVID-19, is an emerging, rapidly evolving situation. With that, the Borough of Quakertown Police Department has established procedures to ensure the safety of our residents and reduce the risk of exposure to the public and our personnel.
Whenever possible, we ask for situations to be handled over the phone. If you call for service to your home or business, you may receive a call back asking if anyone in the home is sick with aforementioned symptoms, traveled out of the country within the last 30 days or has reason to believe they have come in contact with COVID-19. Regardless of a negative response, officers shall make every attempt to handle the call outside keeping a minimum distance of 6 feet between themselves and the person(s) they are in contact with.
Similarly, during traffic accidents and stops, officers will ask the same questions and attempt to keep a minimum distance of 6 feet between themselves and the person(s) they are in contact with. Please be aware, officers may be wearing personal protective equipment such as gloves, eye protection, or mask when necessary.
In addition, The Quakertown Police Department and Borough Hall are closed to the public until further notice. We ask that you call our non-emergency line at 215-328-8515 if you need to get a hold of an officer. In the case of an emergency please dial 9-1-1.
This situation is constantly evolving but we will do our best to keep the residents informed on the situation and our procedure changes. We appreciate your cooperation as we continue to serve our community and restrict this virus.
