On Thursday, October 26th the Quakertown Borough Parks and Recreation and Bucks County Master Gardeners will be hosting a "Composting Basics" seminar. The seminar will take place from 6:30pm to 7:30pm at Borough Hall in Council Chambers.
Composting is essential to building great soil which is essential for good gardening. In addition, home composting offers an excellent way for households to reduce the amount of kitchen and yard waste that goes to landfills. This presentation covers the many benefits of home composting, the various waste materials that can be composted, and basic compost science. In addition, the presenter will discuss how to get started making good compost at home, various uses for the finished product, and ways to troubleshoot issues that may arise.
