Parking in the downtown business district is controlled by parking meters. The first 15 minutes of parking is free, as long as you turn the knob to receive the start of the 15 minutes.

If you receive a parking ticket you may put a stamp on it and mail it with the amount specified or drop it in the night drop box at the side door of Borough Hall. Failure to pay or respond to a parking ticket will result in a summons being issued by the local District Justice with additional costs imposed.

The parking meters are stictly enforced Monday to Saturday from the hours of 8:00 am to 6:00 pm - except holidays.

FINES:

Parking Meter expired:   $5.00

Fine doubled if not paid within 5 days:  $10.00

Parking Tickets:      $25.00

Fine doubled if not paid within 5 days:   $50.00

Overnight Truck Parking Unlawful

It shall be unlawful for any person to park any commercial vehicle, truck tractor, tractor or motor home on any street in the Borough between 11:00 pm and 6:00 am. 

It shall be unlawful for any person to park any kind of trailer, wrecker, bus, tow truck, rollback truck or truck camper on any street in the Borough between 11:00 pm and 6:00 am for more than three consecutive nights unless a permit is granted by the Police Chief. Any owner of a vehicle specified in this section who wishes to park on the street shall apply to do so on a written form provided by the Police Department. Permits granted by the Police Chief shall be for a one-year period, which may be renewable upon application to be filed by the vehicle owner with the Police Chief. The Police Chief's decision shall be made upon a review of the health, safety and welfare of the street, neighborhood and community. Any one-year permit granted by the Police Chief may be subject to review and reconsideration if conditions granting the permit shall change.
